Oh, yes. The filming.
Seeing as I dont really have a nack for getting to sleep before two a.m on the weekends, arriving at school in the morning to be an extra in a student film was quickly outed. Me and Smurfy DID show up in the afternoon, and thus began my very own mental Behind The Scenes DVD Extra.
The actual making of the movie was pretty much how I expected it, but one thing that really hit me was the general tedium of setting up the shot and having to go through it time and time again. Really made me appreciate the amount of time it takes to even SHOOT a movie, much less edit it.
As for my role as "Uncredited Extra/Guy In Jackass Orange Polo Turtlekneck Shirt", there was a lot of just hanging out. A LOT. But, hell, that's what half my life is, anyway. It was nice to have a greater purpose to break up the conversations with Blake, Steven, Smurfy, and whoever the hell else was there on Saturday and Sunday. Even if that purpose WAS a senior thesis shot on 16mm. I think.
Um.
More people actually showed up on Sunday, including the one I was hoping for. So, that was a real nice day. Until me and Steven had the simultaneous realization that we had to be back at the goddamn school in 14 hours.
